To: PamLex5@aol.com From: PamLex5@aol.com Subject: [DOGPAW] Updates from Dogpaw Dogpaw members, An update on Pacific Park: They will need to move the fence in a bit on the north side of park to accomodate the sewer line construction. When they have completed the sewer work, they will expand the park on the south side, near the homes, by pushing the fence out further to the east. There has been some discussion about a Dogpaw Park Ambassador Program and we are currently working with both Animal Control and the Parks department to put together a program to help address issues in the parks. If you received any info about a class on May 21st, please be aware that is NOT a Dogpaw event and does not represent the procedures and processes that we will be following. We are working with Animal Control to develop processes for reporting problems, how to get better education and enforcement, etc. At such time as we have a program put together that will work effectively, we will be looking for volunteers to get involved. We have several events coming up in the next couple months and we really need some volunteers: As always, go online to our events page at clarkdogpaw.org for details and contact info. This is a friendly email reminder letting you all know about upcoming events that DOGPAW will be participating in. Currently, we are in need of volunteers to work small 2-4 hour shifts at each event, working our memberhsip table, and selling our merchandise. May 12- Membership Drive, Ross Park, 9-5. Shifts are 8:30AM-11, 11-2, and 2-5PM Also at this event we need volunteers to put wood chips out. Please bring your own wheelbarrows, rakes etc and help keep Ross clean. May 19- Fido Fun Day, Esther Short Park, 9:30AM-3PM. Shifts are 9-12, and 12-3 May 19- Hazel Dell parade- walk with your dog in the parade in the Dogpaw group, the theme is Western Days, if you and/or your dog want to dress up. Contact Jean Hood for more info if you are interested. More details will be availible on May 12, at Ross Park we will be holding a small 'meet-up' with those interested. Contact me if you have any questions or ideas. Please Let me know if you are able to volunteer for any of the above shifts. One of our goals this year is to be more visible in our community, and to be able to spread the word about our parks and promote the awareness that we need more parks that are off-leash. In order to do this, we need your help and enthusiasm. . Thank you for your continued support! Please contact me for any additional details.
