Staff will complete the application in the dog park first, before moving on to other areas of the park. As a precaution, THE DOG PARK WILL BE CLOSED ALL DAY ON MONDAY, JULY 9, AND POSSIBLY ON TUESDAY, JULY 10. Once the herbicide has dried on the leaves each day, the dog park will be reopened to the public. When dry, the herbicide does not present a danger to people or pets. Herbicide application throughout the rest of park will continue for approximately 5-10 days. Clark County staff will post a spray notice at all park entries before starting the spray application each day. The posting will remain in place for a period of 24 hours, and will show the date, what is being treated, the product being used, and a contact telephone number for questions or concerns. Later this summer, work crews will return to remove the dead blackberry bushes. No closures of the dog park will be needed for this work.
