This meeting is being put on by the Vancouver Parks department and is to discuss the issues surrounding opening the skatepark at Pacific early. The big issue that will impact those of us who use Pacific is the parking, or lack thereof. They are looking to open the skatepark early because people have been breaking in to use it and they are concerned about liability. The article states the county is going to provide garbage cans and a portable toilet, which is interesting since as you know Dogpaw has had to pay for anything at Pacific and I would think the skatepark association should have to help pay the cost for the benefit of getting this park opened early. The article in the paper stated the meeting is for skateboarders, BMX bicyclists and their family/friends. Although the dog parks users have not been invited to the meeting, we stand to face the greatest impact on the parking issue and believe we have the right to voice our concerns. On such short notice, it may be tough for folks to attend this meeting, but you can also comment by e-mail to the public information officer, Jilayne Jordan @ _jilayne.jordan@clark.wa.gov_ (mailto:jilayne.jordan@clark.wa.gov) Those who use Pacific know how limited the parking is and now imagine the skatepark users cars added to the mix. Feel free to offer any suggestions you may have to help the situation. Pam ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
