The event is located at 1220 Main St Restaurant and Bar. Well behaved dogs are welcome. There will be music by Dogpaw member Jeanne Walker, along with treats for humans and dogs. The $10 cover charge goes to help the Humane Society. Below is the latest update regarding Pacific Park: 1. The county has hired a security guard to keep people out of the Extreme Sports Park on weeknights after the construction crews leave and on weekends starting today (August 3rd). This arrangement will continue until the Extreme Sports Park opens. At this time, we are still estimating that the Extreme Sports Park will open around August 15. We will have more specific information about the opening date after final concrete work gets underway at the park. 2. The county has decided to use the section of the park on the east corner of 164th Avenue and 18th Street as a temporary parking lot for Extreme Sports Park and off-leash area users during this interim period before the rest of the park is completed. This area will be open for parking at the same time the Extreme Sports Park is opened. The current on-street parking configuration will remain unchanged, but Clark County Public Works staff will be contacting the Clark County Sheriff's Office about the urgent need for enforcement of the truck parking duration regulations during this time (i.e. increase ticketing). 3. Clark County maintenance crews will be in the park next Tuesday and Wednesday, August 7 and 8, knocking down the dead blackberry bushes in the off-leash area and other areas on the south side of the park. They will not need to close the off-leash area during this time, but some general advisory signs about the work in progress will be posted so people know what's happening. I will also share the parking and security guard information with the skateboarding/BMXing e-mail list I have. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of this. Thanks!
