Subject: [DOGPAW] Police dog fund

Dog lovers,
 
We have all been saddened by the tragic death of Dakota, the Vancouver Police 
dog, this week.  Dogpaw has had an ongoing relationship with our local K-9 
teams, who regularly attend our fundraisers to do demonstrations, and we want to 
do something to show our respect and appreciation for these amazing dogs.
 
Dogpaw is inviting our members to contribute to a special fund that we are 
putting together to help purchase another police dog for Vancouver.  These dogs 
cost around $15,000 and the city does not have money budgeted for this.  We 
have all seen the amazing services these dogs provide to our community and this 
is a great way to honor the memory of Dakota, who honorably served us for the 
past 3 years.  We hope that by pooling our donations, Dogpaw can give a 
substantial amount on behalf of our members that will show the Vancouver Police 
Department how much we appreciate their efforts.
