It looks like it will be early next week, Feb 25th or 26th when the site will be ready. Due to concerns from the neighbors surrounding Vandervoort some changes had to made to the project to keep one acre outside the fenced off leash area to be used as a play space for children and this change has added cost and time to the project. This will leave about 7 acres for the off leash park. The cost of this project is now about $13,000, with the majority of that being paid by Vancouver Fire Department and the rest being picked up by Clark County. The date that the current temporary space at Pacific will close has been extended so that there will still be a 2 week overlap of when Vandervoort opens and when Pacific closes, which is now estimated to be March 10th. We will send an e-mail out and have signs at Pacific announcing when Vandervoort is open for business. Dogpaw has been extremely pleased by the commitment of Vancouver Fire department and Clark County to accommodate dog owners by providing this temporary space. The off leash park at Vandervoort will be open until the permanent off leash Dakota park at Pacific opens this summer. Remember to join us at the Dogpaw annual membership meeting on Wednesday March 5th at 6:30p to learn more about plans for new off leash parks for Vancouver.
