The new Dakota off leash area at Pacific park will be open for business starting July 1st! The park in being named in honor of the Vancouver police dog killed in the line of duty last fall. Vandervort will remain open until July 7th and then will be closed to off leash use. The grand opening celebration and dedication for Dakota park will occur on Saturday, August 2nd and we are in desperate need of help for this event. The next meeting of the planning committee will be Wednesday, July 9th at 7pm at the Clark County utilities building off of Padden parkway. Please contact Julie Mills at _millsmj@comcast.net_ (mailto:millsmj@comcast.net) for any info. We need: donations for prize wheel-anything big or small-animal related or not Vendors who want to have a booth at event ($50) and free to non profits Volunteers to help set up and tear down the day of the event Volunteers to work the booths (2-3 hour shifts) This is a huge accomplishment for Dogpaw that we will be seeing the first ever public financed dog park in our community. At this point, the next 3 dog parks on the drawing board will all be paid for by Dogpaw so we need to continue fund raising. This event on Aug 2nd will be a joint fund raiser for Dogpaw and Clark county K9 police teams (which are all funded by private donations) We really need our members to step up and help out on this event. thanks to everyone for your support and we all look forward to enjoying the new Dakota off leash park. **************Gas prices getting you down?
